The Special Climate Statement from the Bureau of Meteorology of Australia, about the exceptional January-February 2009 heatwave in south-eastern Australia has been updated to include new records set over the weekend. According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Melbourne set a new record for the highest recorded temperature at 46.4 degree Celsius.
