In November, northern Germany was repeatedly crossed by Atlantic low pressure systems. By contrast, the drought in the south initially continued under the influence of high pressure. Furthermore, extremely warm weather for the time of year prevailed in many areas. In the last ten days of the month, precipitation continued to move southwards, ending the drought in that part of the country. Finally, it even caused the temperature to drop significantly and many areas saw their first periods of wintry weather. In spite of this, the overall weather in November was much too mild with sufficient precipitation and sunshine.
