The European Meteorological Society (EMS) is inviting nominations for two annual media awards with a deadline of Thursday, 4 June. The EMS Outreach & Communication Award 2015 recognizes projects that explore new and effective ways of communicating the science of meteorology, climatology and related fields to the general public or to a more specific audience. The projects may deal with the results or the consequences of science. Project teams in particular will be considered for the award, but nominations of individual initiatives are also welcome. The call for nominations and the terms of reference are described on the web site.
The TV Weather Forecast Award is presented to individuals to acknowledge best practices in communicating about meteorology. The Award is presented in the form of a trophy. Broadcast meteorologists are invited each year to submit a video clip of a weather forecast for presentation at the EMS Annual Meeting.  All broadcast meteorologists who submit a video clip in PC-compatible format are eligible for the TV Weather Forecast Award. The call for nomination can be viewed on the web site.
