Operational since 2016, the Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems Initiative (CREWS) is a mechanism to generate and communicate effective, impact-based, multi-hazard, gender-informed early warnings to protect lives, livelihoods, and assets in Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States. It is implemented with the support of 7 contributing partners and 3 implementing partners, including WMO. WMO hosts the Secretariat of the CREWS initiative. Over 30 countries have already benefited from CREWS and the initiative is expected to keep growing.
