The average temperature for Germany in 2015 was around 9.9 degrees Celsius (°C). Initial analysis of the data from the approximately 2,000 measuring stations of the DWD indicate that, together with the years 2000 and 2007, it is likely to be the second warmest year in Germany since nationwide measurements started in 1881. At 10.3 °C, the year 2014 holds the temperature record by a clear margin. Germany’s national meteorological service further reports that the previous 12 months were also too dry and sunny.
