Mean_Daily_Temperature_For_March_2017.

The mean temperature of the month was 21.3°C. This is 0.3°C above the long-term normal for March which is 21.0°C.

The mean maximum temperature of the month was 24.6°C. The highest temperature recorded in the month was 32.2°C set on the 13th March at Bahrain International Airport.

The mean minimum temperature of the month was 18.4°C. The lowest temperature recorded was 14.1°C set on the 1st March at Bahrain International Airport But recorded 11.7°C at same night in Durrat Al Bahrain.

The month was wet with 11 rainy days accumulating 40.5 mm of precipitation at Bahrain International Airport. This goes on record as the tenth highest monthly total rainfall for March at Bahrain International Airport since 1902 and three times more than the long-term normal for March which is 14.0 mm. Note that the highest monthly total rainfall recorded in March was 139.2 mm which occurred on March 1995.

The highest day with precipitation was 20.3 mm fell on the 23rd March. An additional 7.2 mm that fell on the 4th March, 3.7 mm fell on the 17th, 2.9 mm fell on the 20th, 2.2 mm fell on the 19th, 1.7 mm fell on the 29th, 1.5 mm fell on the 2nd, 0.3 mm fell on the 5th, 0.3 mm fell on the 14th, 0.2 mm fell on the 13th and 0.2 mm fell on the 18th March to make the total monthly amount 40.5 mm. Trace amount also recorded on additional nine days of March 2017

Thunderstorms occurred on 12 days. Thundery showers were reported at Bahrain International Airport on the 20th March accumulating daily total precipitation of 2.9 mm and the visibility dropped to 600 meters at Bahrain International Airport. Also moderate thundery showers with hail reported on the 24th March at Bahrain International Airport.

Moderate to heavy rain showers associated with thunderstorm & strong gusts affected the kingdom on the 23rd March. This unsettled weather occurred due to the movement of cold upper trough from Mediterranean Sea towards the central parts of Saudi Arabia and Arabian Gulf produced a daily total precipitation 20.3 mm and gust reached 29 knots at Bahrain International Airport.

The total precipitation recorded for March 2017 at King Fahd Causeway was 28.2 mm with highest day with precipitation was 15.4 mm fell on the 23rd March. The total precipitation at Sitra Island was 30.0 mm with highest day with precipitation was 11.4 mm fell on the 23rd March. The total precipitation at Durrat Al Bahrain was 16.8 mm with highest day with precipitation was 6.4 mm fell on 19th March.                 

The mean relative humidity for March was 70%. The mean maximum relative humidity for the month was 86%. The mean minimum relative humidity for March was 50%.
