The Instituto de Hidrologia, Meteorologia y Estudios Ambientales (IDEAM) has released its new report entitled “Strengthening Hydrometeorological Monitoring, Early Warning Systems and Climate Services in Colombia: The IDEAM, a successful case in Latin America”.  Highlighting the technological transformation that IDEAM has made in the last 5 years, the case study outlines best practices and expertise and can be used as a guiding document for other countries wanting to strengthen and improve their services.

Published with support from National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) in the region and international organizations such as the WMO, Group on Earth Observations (GEO) and Centro Internacional para la Investigación del Fenómeno de El Niño (CIIFEN), the report has strengthened cooperation through information sharing and effective decision-making on environmental issues.

The report is available in the WMO Library.
