Nigerian Government calls on WMO to encourage cooperation among Member Countries - NiMet

The Federal Government of Nigeria has called on WMO to continue encouraging cooperation amongst WMO member states and bridging the gap between the Political Class and Experts in the field. The call was made by the Honourable Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, during the recently concluded 76th Session of WMO Executive Council Meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. The call was contained in an address by Honourable Minister during Plenary and in a bilateral meeting with WMO Secretary-General Petteri Taalas. Senator Sirika appreciated the WMO for the tremendous and continuous support of the development of Meteorology globally, in Africa and specifically in Nigeria. He also thanked the Secretary General for being physically available to sign the Host Country Agreement for the WMO Office in Abuja, Nigeria that covers North, Central and West Africa while not forgetting his support of NiMet Seasonal Climate Prediction over time.
