  • Modernization of the Aviation Meteorological Services of Mongolia

    National Projects

    To enable timely and accurate aviation meteorological service for the safety or regularity of air navigation, WMO is supporting Mongolia to improve data sharing through an English dedicated website, a data processing system and training courses for staff of the Aviation Meteorological Center. The project will lead to greater safety of planes and passengers, while enhancing bilateral and international cooperation in the aviation-meteorological technology and industry between Mongolia and other countries.

One of the worst sand and dust storms in a decade has hit Mongolia, northern China and other parts of Asia, with big environmental and economic impacts and harming air quality for millions of people.

 

 

 

East Asia winter Climate Outlook Forum predicts near-normal or stronger-than-normal monsoon

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) actively supports the activities of the Regional Climate Outlook Forum (RCOF), which brings together experts to produce seasonal, regional climate predictions and information. By bringing together countries with common climatological characteristics, these RCOFs ensure consistency in the access to and interpretation of climate information. The East Asia Winter Climate Outlook Forum (EASCOF) is one such RCOF, which was jointly established by the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), and Mongolia's National Agency for Meteorology and Environment Monitoring (NAMEM) in 2012.
