Recently, China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has issued a notice which has clarified the focus of work of World Meteorological Centre Beijing (WMC-BJ) and the task breakdown plan (hereafter referred to as the plan) of the action plan on global meteorological operational development 2020-2022. It requires that relevant meteorological departments carry out global operational construction work of WMC-BJ, and constantly elevate the fundamental operational capacity of global monitoring, global forecasting, and global services. National Early Warning Center(hereafter referred to as the Center) was founded on February 26, 2015, a part of CMA Public Meteorological Service Center. March 2022 was warmer than normal in temperatures with below average precipitation and above average wind speed. The mean temperature of the month was 22.3°C which is 1.0°C above the long-term normal for March. Note that the highest mean monthly temperature for March was 24.6°C recorded in 2018. The mean maximum temperature of the month was 26.9°C which is 1.4°C above the long-term normal and this goes on record as the seventh highest mean temperature for March since 1946. Strong currents of cold air around Japan caused frequent heavy snowfall over northern to western parts of the country’s Sea of Japan side and elsewhere from late December 2021 onward. Winter snowfall amounts were above normal in many locations on the Sea of Japan side, and values exceeded double the normal at some stations in western Japan. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing ceremony took place on the 7 th of March 2022 in Lagos, Nigeria. This landmark agreement is a cumulation of efforts by the Agency under the able leadership of the DG/CEO, Professor Mansur Bako Matazu. This historical agreement also comes at the first anniversary in the office of DG/CEO.
