Commission for Climatology (CCl)
The Commissions for Aeronautical Meteorology, Agriculture Meteorology, Climatology, Hydrology and the Intergovernmental Board on Climate Services transitioned into the Commission for Weather, Climate, Water and Related Environmental Services & Applications (Services Commission) following adoption of the WMO Governance Reform package by the Eighteenth Meteorological Congress in June 2019. In addition, the Seventy-first Executive Council (EC-71) established a new Climate Coordination Panel in June 2019. In 2020, the Services Commission established a Standing Committee on Climate Services.

The Services Commission contributes to the development and implementation of globally harmonized weather, climate, water, ocean and environment related services and applications to enable informed decision making and realization of socioeconomic benefits by all user communities and society as a whole.
Improving the understanding of the climate system for the benefit of societies coping with climate variability and change.
Humanity must be able to anticipate future climate with some reasonable degree of confidence in order to innovate and adapt successfully. The proposed Global Framework for Climate Services promises to meet the challenge of providing effective climate services for decision-making in four initial priority areas – agriculture and food security, disaster risk reduction, health and water – before expanding to provide such services to a broader spectrum of users.
Improving the availability of, and access to, reliable climate data, monitoring and forecasts.
