Output 1: Enhancing the capacity of TMA in processing, packaging and dissemination of weather and climate information and products
- Providing improved web services capabilities by enhancing Internet connectivity through improved Local Area Network at Central Forecasting Office and Headquarter
- Procurement of visualization screen, projector and webcam camera to facilitate participatory approaches with users and the development of tailored agromet products
- Training of staff on information packaging and communication skills including data processing, and develop innovative approach in packaging and dissemination of weather and climate products
- Enhance the capacity of TMA Experts in accessing, understanding and using the latest Long-Range Forecasting Tools such as GeoCOF (Facilitator from ICPAC) linked with on-going WMO improved seasonal and sub-seasonal initiative
- Assess the impacts of weather and climate extremes events to agriculture (crop and livestock sub sectors) for improved risk management at national and local level
Output 2: Enhancing capacity of stakeholders to access, understand and utilize weather and climate information for decision making
- Preparation of awareness raising and sensitization materials including brochure and leaflets
- Awareness raising and training of agriculture and livestock extension officers in three selected districts to better interpret and use weather and climate products including downscaled seasonal forecast and agrometeorological bulletin
- Registration of farmers and livestock keepers to FarmSMS
Output 3: Improving the provision of agrometeorological services
- Procurement and installation of soil moisture instruments to support crop management and irrigation advisories and calibration of soil moisture measurements from satellites
- Establish and enhance teleconferencing facilities to facilitate participatory development of tailored agromet products
