How to get to WMO

Getting to WMO from the airport

WMO is 5 km from the airport.

There is a taxi stand outside the Arrivals Hall (on the ground floor). The fare will be in the range of CHF 25–30.

There is a public bus service (TPG) from the airport to WMO: Bus n° 28 can be taken from outside the Terminal Building (first floor). The stop is to the left as you come out of the terminal.  Take the bus in the direction of Jardin Botanique, which is the last stop and where you will get off. The WMO building is in front of the Jardin Botinque. Free tickets are available from the machine in the Baggage Conveyor Hall before customs. 

There is no direct train service from the airport to WMO. From the airport, one can take the train to Gare Cornavin central station. From Gare Cornavin, take the local train in the direction of "Coppet" and get off at train stop Sécheron right next to WMO. The trip from Gare Cornavin central station to "Sécheron" takes 3 minutes and a train leaves every 30 minutes.

Getting to WMO from Geneva city centre

Public bus service (TPG) lines n° 1, 11, 25 and 28 going in the direction of “Jardin Botanique” or  tram n° 15 to “Nations” can all be taken to WMO. The WMO building is across the street from the Jardin Botanique, the last stop on the bus lines. The final tram stop, Place des Nations, is a ten minute walk from the WMO building. Take avenue de la Paix in the direction of the lake, WMO is just after the train overpass. Alternatively, bus n° 11 can be taken from the Place des Nations to WMO. Take  n° 11 in the direction of Jardin Botanique, the WMO building is in front of the Jardin Botanique, also the last stop on that bus line.

Some hotels in Geneva are providing guests with a free ticket for public transport. Otherwise, the fare is CHF 3 if you are taking the bus for more than three stops.
