The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) held the 2017 ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee TRCG Research Fellowship Scheme for members of the Typhoon Committee in Korea for 12 days, from April 17 to 28, 2017. The mean temperature of the month was 27.6°C. This is 2.6°C above the long-term normal. This goes on record as the highest mean monthly temperature for April. The old record was 27.4°C in April 2000 & 2014. The mean maximum temperature of the month was 32.0°C. This goes on record as the third highest mean maximum temperature for April since 1946 and exceeded by April 2000 which was 33.1°C and April 2001 which was 32.5°C. The highest temperature recorded in the month was 39.6°C set on the 14 th April at Bahrain International Airport.
