October 2019 goes on record as the hottest ever experienced in Bahrain since 1902. Hot and humid weather dominated the Kingdom of Bahrain during the month of October due to the moist easterly winds. The mean temperature of the month was 32.1°C which is 2.9°C above the long-term normal for October and this goes on record as the highest mean temperatures for the month of October since 1902. September 2019 goes on record as the third hottest September ever experienced in Bahrain since 1902. The mean temperature of the month was 34.4°C which is 2.0°C above the long-term normal for September and this goes on record as the third highest mean temperatures for the month of September since 1902 and exceeded by September 2017 with a record of 34.6°C and September 1998, 2015 & 2018 with a record of 34.5°C. The 2019 southwest monsoon season comes to end with above normal seasonal (June to September) rainfall. Quantitatively monsoon seasonal rainfall was 110% of its Long Period Average, which is 88 cm. Out of 36 meteorological subdivisions, 2 sub divisions received large excess, 10 received excess and 19 sub divisions received normal monsoon rainfall. Out of 36 sub divisions, 5 sub divisions however received deficient rainfall, but deficiency was in 20s except for Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh where the deficiency was 42%. After the extremely hot temperatures at the end of July, the first two decades of August were much more pleasant. Dry and very warm periods frequently alternated with wet and cooler ones, whereas the last decade of the month brought a return to widespread summery heat.
