The Arctic Winter Special Observing Period (SOP1) of the Year of Polar Prediction* (YOPP) commenced on 1 February 2018. WMO looks forward to the extensive extra observations to be conducted by the YOPP community at numerous Arctic stations, as a part of YOPP-endorsed field campaigns, and by autonomous instruments.
