Liaison Offices

WMO Liaison Offices represent the scientific and technical work and priorities of WMO Members in international processes at their location and the wider region.

They ensure the voices of the meteorological and hydrological community are heard in the global discourse responding to challenges such as climate change, disaster risk reduction and sustainable development.

They do so by working with partners and key decision-makers to increase awareness of WMO’s responsibilities and capabilities and to maximize opportunities to enhance the work of WMO further. The liaison offices act as an interface between WMO Members, Permanent Representatives of the WMO and other officials from their organizations, and relevant global and regional partners in their area.

UN Affairs Office

EU Affairs Office

The WMO EU Affairs Office in Brussels is a joint initiative of WMO, EUMETNET, EUMETSAT and ECMWF which provides European Union (EU) institutions with a single-entry point to the entire meteorological and hydrological community.
