Aircraft-based observations

'Aircraft-based observations’, or ABOs, are obtained by aircrafts that can measure important meteorological parameters, such as air pressure, temperature, wind, humidity, and others, and then make them available in real-time to meteorological forecast applications on the ground.

Measurements and future predictions of parameters such as wind, temperature, humidity and turbulence also have significant benefits for the aviation industry and help make flying safer, more efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly.
