A remarkable progress has been made by PRCC-Network during the demonstration phase which commenced in 2018. The Network performs all mandatory and some of the highly recommended functions, providing high quality climate services to the Member countries of the region, also provides technical support to the Pacific Islands Climate Outlook Forums (PICOF), as one of its flagship activities. Through the ClimSA programme WMO initiated an evaluation of RCCs operations, including the PRCC-Network, and based on the findings a capacity development workshop has been proposed to enhance the capacities of the Network Nodes and facilitate the designation process. The Workshop will be held on 27-29 May 2024 in Port Vila, Vanuatu, back-to-back with the Pacific Roadmap for Strengthening Climate Services (PRSCS) meeting. It will be held on 28-30 May 2024, back-to-back with the Pacific Roadmap for Strengthening Climate Services (PRSCS) meeting. It will be co-organized and co-funded by WMO and South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) through ClimSA Programme budget earmarked for this event. WMO will support the participation of resource persons and technical experts.
