Amir Delju

Mr Amir H. Delju is a Senior Scientific Officer in the Climate Services Branch of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). He coordinates WMO’s contributions to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its constituencies, mainly on adaptation to climate change and climate science basis for action. He has dedicated his efforts to enhancing partnerships and cooperation in climate activities by establishing a two-way dialogue between the technical and scientific community and adaptation practitioners. Amir has a background in meteorology and climatology from the universities of Tehran in Iran and Neuchâtel in Switzerland. He leads the climate science information for climate action initiative, which mainstreams the availability of the best available science for adaptation projects and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs). On technical capacity development, he promotes the implementation of a quality management system in climate services and the competencies of staff to develop their technical skills. Mr Delju has authored/co-authored 4 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact international scientific journals for climatology. He has also published more than 12 publications for WMO.
