About IG³IS

The Integrated Global Greenhouse Gas Information System (IG3IS) is a common framework that combines atmospheric observations and analysis tools to improve information on the emissions and uptake of greenhouse gases (GHGs) at decision-relevant scales. The applications include national-scale emission evaluation, as well as urban- and sectoral-scale solutions. The IG³IS community develops good practices for applications across different scales and sectors. User community engagement in product creation is essential. The outputs of IG³IS can support national and smaller-scale mitigation policies, help identify opportunities for emission reduction, and track progress toward emission-reduction goals.
