Weather, Water and Climate Information for a Resilient Future
Location: Side Event Room 4
The session will highlight how the support provided by the World Meteorological Organization, including through the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS), helps countries transform climate data, information, and knowledge into action at national and community levels. It will demonstrate how activities ranging from research and systematic observations to localized early warnings and user-driven climate services enable effective and timely climate responses.
Discussions will also focus on the essential role of sustained global observations in strengthening the climate information value chain, from planetary monitoring to local action. Participants will explore how impact-based forecasting and prediction can enhance risk-informed decision-making and increase the societal relevance of climate information for users.
