Zhang Wei
Mr. Zhang Wei, Deputy General Manager of Huafeng Group under the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and bears the professional title of Senior Engineer.
His primary responsibilities include the international promotion and system deployment of China's Mazu Meteorological Early Warning System, as well as conducting extensive international exchanges and technical cooperation on meteorological early warning with meteorological authorities, research institutions, and meteorologists from various countries worldwide.
In 2004, Zhang Wei obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems and Information Management from Central South University in China. In 2007, he earned a Master's Degree in E-Commerce from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.
With 18 years of experience in the meteorological industry, Zhang Wei focuses on the development and application of meteorological technology, international meteorological cooperation, international project engineering, and capacity building. He has organized and implemented projects related to the modernization of meteorological capabilities and meteorological early warning services in nearly 30 countries across Asia, Africa and other regions. He has a profound understanding of the urgent needs of developing countries in terms of meteorological capacity building and the enhancement of early warning capabilities. He is committed to contributing to the improvement of global meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities, and dedicated to making efforts for the building of early warning capabilities for all people around the world.
