The Global ITU/WMO Seminar on the Use of Radio Spectrum for Weather, Climate, Water and Related Environmental Activities will take place from 28 to 30 September 2026 at ITU Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Seminar will provide a forum for the meteorological and radiocommunication communities to review current and emerging spectrum requirements for weather, climate, water, and related environmental applications.
Participants will discuss preparations for the World Radiocommunication Conferences 2027 (WRC-27) and 2031 (WRC-31), as well as related regulatory, technical, and operational challenges, including emerging trends such as commercial data provision and cloud-based data processing.
The event will also mark the launch of the new joint WMO–ITU Handbook, Use of radio spectrum for meteorology: weather, climate, water and related environmental applications .
