Join us for the official launch of the Flood Forecasting and Warning (E2E-EWS-FF) Community of Practice - a World Meteorological Organization (WMO) initiative developed to connect National Meteorological and Hydrological Services, practitioners, and researchers worldwide in strengthening early warning systems and reducing disaster risk.

Taking place on International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, anchored in the urgent need for timely and accurate flood forecasts and aligned with the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative, this webinar will:

  • Spotlight cutting-edge guidance from WMO and partners, collaborative and practical innovations that support early warning systems and disaster risk reduction.
  • Bring forward experiences and perspectives from countries on the frontlines of flood risk.

Ahead of the event, we warmly invite you to join the Community of Practice and help build a global hub for actionable knowledge on flood forecasting. The FF-CoP is designed to be your community. We want to hear from you, learn from your experiences, and ensure the platform reflects the priorities and challenges faced by your institutions. Your insights will help shape the future direction of the Community of Practice.

Agenda

  • Global perspectives: Key insights from WMO, CREWS, and innovative forecasting projects.
  • Voices from the ground: Experiences from the countries
  • Panel discussion: National and community-based approaches, plus innovations in tools and methods.
  • Interactive session: Explore the CoP platform and contribute to shaping future activities.
