Regional Training Workshop on developing the Hydrological Status and Hydrological Monitoring under WHCA Project + HydroSOS Forum + Nile Basin Hydrological Outlook Forum
An upcoming regional workshop under the HydroSOS initiative will bring together technical experts and stakeholders from WHCA countries to accelerate progress in hydrological monitoring and coordination. The meeting will focus on reviewing activities agreed upon in April 2025 — including station rehabilitation, rating curve development, and data quality control. Participants will work collaboratively to develop national and regional hydrological status products using available data and tools. The workshop will also strengthen capacity in data pre-processing and pushing information to visualization portals, while promoting alignment on data harmonization, institutional roles, and sustainability planning. Expected outcomes include finalized streamflow status products for pilot countries and basins, agreed protocols for data standardization, and a roadmap to support long-term operationalization of HydroSOS across the Nile Basin.
