ClimSOFT Climate Data Management System training workshop, Yaounde, Cameroon

The ClimSA project seeks to support the implementation of the climate information services value chain within the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) focus countries through provision of technical and financial assistance, and infrastructure and capacity building. WMO’s contribution includes the support of climate data management systems (CDMSs), including conducting regional training events on open source CDMSs. This workshop partly fulfils the WMO’s obligations on this activity, following a similar workshop organized in Nairobi, Kenya, 29 September – 3 October.   Following earlier tasks and feedback within the project, the training event will focus on the ClimSOFT climate data management system, noting the existing widespread use within Africa and ClimSOFT support desk located in Nairobi. The workshop aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to successfully deploy, configure, and use the ClimSOFT Climate Data Management System.
