Side Event at 2026 ECOSOC Partnership Forum: Strengthening the Digital-Energy Nexus: Leveraging AI and Data for Transformative innovation in Sustainable Energy systems

WMO, UNDP and UNECE co-host this side event highlighting how the energy–digital nexus, including AI-driven forecasting and data-based planning, can accelerate a just energy transition, enhance climate resilience and unlock sustainable finance across Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, reducing transmission congestion by up to 20%, improving renewable integration by 25%, and advancing SDGs 7, 9, 11 and 17.
