Webinar for Training the Trainers on WMO CAP Composer
Overview
The Common Alert Protocol (CAP) webinar for training the trainers on the WMO CAP composer tool is part of the ongoing efforts for the implementation of CAP in the Pacific region. The purpose of the webinar is to provide training to experts from the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and MetService New Zealand on the WMO CAP composer tool. The webinar is co-organized in partnership between WMO and SPREP with support from the Climate Risk Early Warning System (CREWS) initiative funded WMO Scale Up Inclusive Early Warning and Action in the Pacific (SIEWAP) and the Drought Resilience Early Warning (DREW) Pacific projects, and the Weather Ready Pacific (WRP). The webinar also seeks:
- To enhance coordination approach between WMO and SPREP/WRP for CAP implementation in the Pacific.
- To establish CAP trainers or CAP champions network for the Pacific region.
- To have CAP trainers/champions ready to assist other Pacific Island countries to implement and operationalize CAP.
