China's practice and experience on Early Warnings for All

On December 6, the reporter learned from the side event themed by "Strengthening Early Warning and Enhancing Climate Change Adaptive Capacity" which was co-hosted by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MOE), China Meteorological Administration (CMA), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and Global Adaptation Center (GAC), China's practice and experience on Early Warningsfor All was appreciated by several delegates and experts from the government, international organizations, colleges and universities, research institutes, the media, and so on, along the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

At the technical level, relying on channels such as the National Early Warning Information Dissemination System for Emergencies, China has constructed an operational system for the dissemination of early warning information that is interconnected, standardized and unified, and multi-sectoral application, so as to promote the precise targeting of meteorological warnings and their dissemination to the affected industries, regions and specific groups of people. Supported by the technical system is the system of emergency responders with Chinese characteristics: specific staff are responsible for receiving and transmitting meteorological disaster warning information and reporting disaster situations within their own units or jurisdictions, so as to ensure that early warnings reach villages, households and citizens.
