VI youth to rep British Caribbean Territories @ World Meteorological Congress in Geneva

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago- The Caribbean Meteorological Organisation (CMO) is "proudly" celebrating Ms Nardia Magloire of the Virgin Islands (VI) as the first Youth Focal Point for the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) Regional Association IV (North America, Central America, and the Caribbean).

Ms Nardia Magloire conducted a summer youth programme in the Virgin Islands to raise awareness on climate resilience and safety, in collaboration with their Ministry of Climate, Collage Mangrove Project, Solar Energy, Seven Seas Water Group, Department of Disaster Management, British Virgin Islands Airport Authority Meteorological Team, and the Water and Sewerage Department.

According to the Caribbean Meteorological Organisation, in a press release on October 17, 2025, since being appointed in January 2025, Ms Magloire has actively advanced youth participation within WMO, noting that, “Meteorology is a field I am deeply passionate about, and I am truly honoured to have been given the opportunity to contribute as a Youth Focal Point”.

Due to her role in the development of the WMO Youth Action Plan, Ms Magloire has been invited to participate in the Extraordinary World Meteorological Congress 2025, being held from October 20-23, 2025, in Geneva and online, as a delegate of the British Caribbean Territories (BCT).
