Expert Team on Drought
The Expert Team on Drought (ET-DRG) will, during 2024–2027, develop guidance to integrate drought, fire, and other agroclimatic hazards into multi-hazard alert systems under EW4All; review and refine the National Drought Early Warning Systems Implementation Plan; update relevant regulatory and technical documents and link agrometeorological data to WIS, WIGOS, and WIPPS; and ensure hazards such as hail, frost, and pests are incorporated into EW4All initiatives.

The expected outputs for the 2024-2027 period are:
- Mechanisms and guidance on incorporating alerts and warnings on drought, fire and other weather and climate extreme events/natural hazards on agriculture to regional and global multi-hazard alerting Systems – linking with the EW4All initiative;
- Review and refine the Implementation Plan for National Drought Early Warning Systems;
- Review and update regulatory/technical documents with regards to the Drought National early warning services (EWS) Implementation Plan, Regional Agrometeorological/Drought Centres, and Rolling Review of Requirements, and linking observational data from agrometeorological networks from partners into WIS, WIGOS, and the WMO Integrated Processing and Prediction System (WIPPS));
- Ensuring that drought and other agroclimatic hazards (hail, frost, plant pests and diseases) are included in the EW4ALL (related to items (d) and (e), that have been retained form the previous cycle);
