The western regions of Libya have been affected by a desert depression causing severe heat wave since Monday 21 June - National Meteorological Centre - Libya

A severe heat wave has swept the western regions of Libya since Monday 21 / 6 / 2021 as a result of a desert depression. The temperatures were above their seasonal average for June exceeding more than 10°C over all northwestern and southwestern regions. The highest recorded temperatures ranged between 40°C  ‐  46°C on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. According to the predictions, temperatures exceeded this range in some cities, where there are no observing stations, and they will remain high during this week on most western regions.
