Climate & Weather - Early Warning Systems: Why Invest in Them?

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is advocating for a global early warning system that would protect every person on Earth by 2027. Currently, only half of WMO's members have a fully-functioning, multi-hazard early warning system.

The organization, which has existed for 150 years, focuses on exchanging weather and climate data that enables countries to issue accurate forecasts. They are particularly committed to helping least developed and developing countries enhance their forecasting capabilities by providing up-to-date information tailored to local needs.
