Department of Sciences, Services and Capacity Development

Veronique Bouchet is the Senior Director of the Department, which has three Divisions:

• Division of Science and Innovation (vacant), which includes the Climate Research and Information Section, the Weather and Societal Impact Research Section and the Atmospheric Composition and Environmental Services Section
• Division of Meteorological and Sectoral Services (Celine Jauffret), which includes the Severe Weather Services Section, the Sectoral Services Section, the Marine and Aviation Services Section and the Joint Climate and Health Office
• Division of Capacity Development (Mingmei Li), which includes the Fellowships Unit and the Education and Training Unit

Across these areas, the department supports the development and operationalization of common attributes for product and service delivery, quality management standards and competencies, emerging services and applications, and regional and global partnerships. The Department is responsible for supporting the Commission for Weather, Climate, Hydrological, Marine, and Related Environmental Services and Applications, the WMO Research Board and the WMO Scientific Advisory Panel.
