James Bennett

James is part of CSIRO's water forecasting team, where he develops methods and numerical models to forecast streamflows from hours to months in advance. James has a particular interest in quantifying forecast uncertainty in ensemble streamflow forecasts and forecast verification. James translates these methods to operational systems through software and system development.

James is a co-chair of the HEPEX initiative and a member of the World Meteorological Organisation's (WMO) Joint Working Group on Forecast Verification Research, the steering group on the WMO Integrated Prediction of Precipitation and Hydrology for Early Actions (InPrHA) project, and a member of the WMO's Research Board Task Team on Hydrology.
