Thiago Monteiro

Assistant Professor

Prof Dr Thiago Monteiro is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oceanography at the Institute of Geosciences (IGEO), Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Oceanographer with a Master’s and PhD in Physical, Chemical, and Geological Oceanography. His research focuses primarily on CO₂ exchanges between the ocean and the atmosphere, the marine carbonate system, and marine biogeochemistry in polar, tropical, and coastal environments.

He is a member of the MARES project, which aims to promote awareness and understanding of oceanographic and Antarctic studies among the general public. His main research interests include integrated oceanographic processes.
