WMO Secretariat reorganization

World Meteorological Organization HQ building

In August 2025, the Secretary-General approved a comprehensive reorganization of the WMO Secretariat, marking a decisive step toward a unified “One WMO” approach. This transformation responds to evolving global challenges, the need for more integrated Earth system services, and increasing financial constraints.

The reorganization strengthens WMO’s institutional resilience, optimizes resources, and aligns Secretariat structures more closely with Members’ priorities.
