The WMO community values equitable access to weather, climate, water, and environmental data. Under the Research Board, the Task Team on Data Exchange for Research and Science (TT-DERS) identifies research community needs, promotes free mutual data sharing for non-commercial use between NMHSs and academia, raises awareness of existing open data, and supports policy decisions on science-based environmental information and services. TT-DERS concluded in December 2025.
