The RA III Focal Point on Aircraft-based Observations (RA III-FP-ABO) works under the RA III Expert Team on WMO Integrated Observing System (RA III-ET-WIGOS) to expand upper-air data provision through a new joint RA III/IV program. It actively engages targeted airlines to contribute to critical networks like RBON and GBON. The FP-ABO assists in establishing regional centres for ABO and AMDAR data processing, leads technical training for members and the aviation industry, and represents the joint team within the Regional Committee on Infrastructure.
