WMO Regional Association III has 13 members representing a wide diversity of territories and climatic zones. From the estuaries of La Plata and Amazon to the snow-capped peaks of the Andes, passing through extensive wetlands and Yungas, RA III presents opportunities and challenges in the areas of observation and monitoring of the weather, climate, water and environment. In order to respond to the needs of members in these areas, RA III has been structured into four Regional Committees, eight Expert Teams and seven Focal Points.

Governance
The governance of Regional Association III is currently led by Lic. Eduardo José MINGO VEGA (Paraguay) as acting President, and Prof. Madeleine RENOM (Uruguay) as Vice-President.
They are supported by Dr. Waldo Sven LAVADO CASIMIRO (Peru), who serves as the Regional Hydrological Adviser, ensuring the integration of hydrological priorities within the Association's activities.
